iOS 8.1.3 was released last week, and as it turns out, side-loaded apps like PlayBox HD, HD Cinema, and MovieBox are not working for iOS 8.1.3. We discuss why this has happened, and the working solution for it after the jump.
We regularly cover blog posts on video torrent streaming apps like MovieBox, PlayBox HD, and HD Cinema. They are some of the more regularly read articles on our site, so of course we understand there is a good demand for these apps.
Quite a few people do not like the idea of jailbreaking, so they prefer using these apps without jailbroken device. Apple obviously does not allow these apps in the App Store because of their lawfully questionable use and nature, but the developer community has a way of side-loading apps. Said way is, however, quite unreliable. As you can tell from the comments on those articles, downloading these apps is hit or miss; it only works for some people, some of the time.
We have previously discussed how to download and install these apps for iOS 8.1, 8.1.1, and even 8.1.2. Unfortunately, most of those links have stopped working. I am not sure of the exact reason why, but it is just how these things work.
As of typing, all these apps – PlayBox HD, HD Cinema, and MovieBox are no longer working for iOS 8.1.3. To add to the bad news, iOS 8.1.3 plugs the exploit that TaiG tool uses to jailbreak iOS 8.0-8.1.2.
There is, however, a temporary solution. We recommend you downgrade iOS 8.1.3 to iOS 8.1.2 after downgrading iTunes 12.1, and then use TaiG jailbreak on Windows. Once you have jailbroken your iOS device, you can install MovieBox, HD Cinema, and PlayBox HD from Cydia or directly installed the DEB files. How this is done is outside the scope of this post, so you will have to search on Google for now. We may cover this topic – installing video torrent streaming apps on jailbroken devices – on another day.
In case you just do not want to jailbreak, your only option right now is to wait. We will definitely publish the news when we find MovieBox and its contemporaries working on iOS 8.1.3.
